NSW Hobie 16 & 18 State Championships Confirmed for Mannering Park

MULTI SERIES FORMAT

The NSW Hobie Cat Association will again split the State Championships throughout the 2025 Championship Tour, and 2025/26 NSW Traveller Series. In running a split series, the NSWHCA wishes to encourage our Women & Youth members to develop their skills and sail in a competitive environment. We also recognise that many of our members own and race a number of different classes of Hobie Cat, with many H14 sailors now adventuring into the realm of the H14-Turbo.

At the suggestion of members a number of years ago, the NSWHCA decided to expand the the State Championships to allow Youth, Women and sailors of multiple classes to compete on as many Classes of Hobie Cat as they could. The NSWHCA hope to both encourage Youth & Women to race on different Hobie classes, and to provide members who race on multiple classes the opportunity to compete in more than one State Championship level event.

The regattas in which the State Championships will be combined with are:

• Hobie 14-Turbos | Phil Johnston Memorial 14ft Regatta: Mannering Park
  • 18-19, October 2025
• Hobie 16s & 18s | Big Boat Regatta: Mannering Park
  • 5-7, December 2025

INFORMATION FOR ENTRANTS:

• There will be NO entries taken on the day of the event.
• All entrants require ONE sailor on each boat to be financial members of the NSWHCA or affiliated State Hobie Class as per class rules. The membership form can be found HERE.
• Minimum weight will be upheld for all relevant classes as per the updated IHCA Rules.
  • Hobie 14-Turbo: 68.1kg
  • Hobie 16: 129.3kg
  • Hobie 18: 133.8kg
