It’s that time of the year again Hobie Sailors!!
The Gold Coast Catamaran Club would like to formally invite all off-the-beach catamaran sailors to the annual, the one and the only, the everlasting Bad News Regatta! Taking place over the June long weekend (NSW/VIC only), the Baddie Regatta is widely known as the most spectacular event on the Championship Tour.
Open to all classes, only recently has the decision been made to award the Baddie perpetual trophy to the largest fleet in attendance. Last year, Gordon and Tom McGillivray took home the broken centreboard in a masterful performance on the Gold Coast in a 12 boat Hobie 16 fleet. The Hobie 14s saw 7 x boats hit the start line alongside 6 x 14-Turbos. Finally, the misc. fleet saw the faithful Dave Chester bring along his Hobie 20 to race alongside a few Hobie 18s and Nick on the Taipan.
